The Kandy District Scout Branch, established in 1913, is one of the oldest and most prestigious scouting divisions in Sri Lanka. With a massive membership of over 7,000 scouts and 100+ active groups, they required a digital headquarters to centralize their operations. We developed a comprehensive, high-scale web portal—kandyscouts.lk—to digitize their records, streamline communication, and preserve the rich history of scouting in the Kandy District.

The Challenge
For over a century, the Kandy Scouts relied on physical record-keeping and manual coordination for their events, such as the legendary "Kanboree." With thousands of members across various categories (Singithi, Cub, Junior, Senior, and Rover), managing applications, circulars, and event updates manually became a significant administrative bottleneck. The branch needed a "single source of truth" that could serve as both a public face and a functional administrative tool.

We developed a comprehensive digital headquarters for the Kandy District Scout Branch that transitions a century of scouting tradition into a modern, data-driven ecosystem. Built to enhance administrative efficiency and institutional transparency, the web application serves as a centralized "Single Source of Truth" for official circulars, educational syllabi, and real-time event tracking. By implementing a high-capacity media archive and a robust database upgrade program, we provided the client with a scalable platform that eliminates manual paperwork, streamlines communication across all scout groups, and preserves the branch’s historical legacy for the next generation.
